Isn't it cooool? if yes then let's do it right now...

Result of this step is as below:

Step 3: Now open Colors>>Curves.

Step 4: The setting window to adjust the curves will open. Adjust the curves according to the figure given below:

Result of this step is given below:

Step 5: That's it now color time...Open Color>>Colorize. Now main part..Look everybody has his own color preference and that's why I give you the option to choose the color for your picture. In colorize settings window increase the Lightness a little bit 10-15, then slide the Hue Bar which will eventually change the color. Set the bar at your preferred state and done.

That's it just apply your preferred colors and post it online...Enjoy

  1. The individual results would depend on the picture used. I found threshold worked better for my picture. Either you forgot one step or assumed people would know to change the mode back to RGB. Of course, the message at the bottom of the image window telling you to do so when you click on colorize helps but not everybody would notice this. Your picture came out pretty good. Thanks for the tutorial.

  2. Everything worked until the colorize part. I picked a color, a teal, but nothing happened. so i used the bucket but the color came out grey. i tried to paint in the color with brush, again grey. so i changed the color to a darker teal, all i got with bucket and brush was a darker grey? so where is the colorize fill tool?
