Create realistic wall impression painting in 4 steps with Gimp.

Lately I was experimenting with layer modes in Gimp, and I came up with an awesome technique. With this technique we can create pretty realistic old wall impressions or paintings like shown in the figures below:




So let's get started...

Wall Background from HERE
Foreground Image: Nafne



Step 1: Open the background in Gimp.




Step 2: Now open the foreground image in another layer on same window. Try Drag-Drop.




Step 3: Now go to "Mode" in Layer window and select "Burn" mode.




Step 4: Open Colors>>Colorize and set values Hue:0 Saturation:0 and Lightness: 30.




Result of this effect is as below:
